FAQ

This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?

That I got you.   From location and time recommendations, prep, styling, what to bring,   posing, and troubleshooting.   And that it is totally normal to feel awkward! It's not everyday we have a giant lens in front of us.   I promise, after the first 20 minutes you will relax and have a lot of fun actually!   And if you have young kids that let's say are giving us a run for our money.....well I'm an elementary teacher, a mom, and I totally get it, have been there and can handle it!   You would be surprised how sometimes it's the chaos that make the best images.

Are the travel expenses included in your packages?

Yes.   Unless we travel more than 35 minutes from the Shelby Township area.   Then there is an additional surcharge we can discuss.   But I'm always up for travel.

Can you recommend any locations?

Sure can.   Keep in mind I like being outdoors in natural light.   So my recommendations will be outdoor locations.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes.   Typically a $100 deposit it required to save your date and is credited towards your balance which is due right before the shoot.     If the location of your shoot requires a permit, the cost of the permit is also due at booking.

FAQ

Do you take payment plans?

I do on the 4 Seasons Senior Package.   You can pay quarterly before each session.   For regular sessions,   we can set up a plan. However payment in full is due by the time of the session.

Can I bring my pet or other props?

Yes.

When will i get my pictures?

Within 3-4 days of the session, you will get a First Glance Gallery of approximately 5-10 edited images.   Your Full Gallery will be delivered within 3-4 weeks, but I always strive to surprise you sooner and typically can.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes, I do.   It would fall under the Couples Package.

FAQ

What if I have to cancel?

If you reschedule, nothing happens.   We can work around weather delays or postponements.   If you cancel altogether,   the deposit is kept for time spent scouting, planning, covering equipment rental, and turning down other potential projects.   If I have to cancel for circumstances out of my control and we can not reschedule after reasonable efforts, a refund will be issued.

What if the weather is bad?

That depends on your definition of bad.   Overcast skies make for great soft, even light.   Snow is so picturesque.   Wind may not always be ideal, but it can be and we can work around it usually.   But consistent rain and extreme dangerous temperatures....yes, we will reschedule if we can't delay and/or work around it.

Can I use the photos for my personal use?

Yes, of course! All images remain the copyright of the photographer.   But you are granted a non-exclusive license for personal use.   But please do not alter or edit the images.  When booking me, you have consented to reviewing my portfolio and have reasonable expectation that I will deliver images to you in a consistent style.

How does your booking process work?

Well if you are reading this, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Get In Touch".   Let's connect and see if we are a good match!     Once you decide to book, I will send you an invoice and contract.   When I receive your deposit, we can save your date and start the fun of planning!

FAQ

Do I have to buy prints from you or can I print from a place of my choice?

You do not have to buy enlargements, albums, prints, etc from me, but I do offer those services.   Ordering from my store ensures your images are true to color and sent to a professional printing lab.   But you are free to take them to CVS, Costco, Shutterfly, etc...as well.

Why the wait for the final gallery?

Each image is individually edited to capture the magic, personality, and emotion of your session. I take pride in delivering a gallery that is thoughtfully curated and polished, and worthy of this special season in your life. Thank you for your patience while I create something truly special for you.

Do i need to know how to pose?

Absolutely not. And don’t worry! You can’t mess this up.  We are shooting digital.  We don’t like something?

delete.  Trust me - you WILL get more

comfortable and then the fun starts.

The BIGGEST and most important thing that I

want you to know on your session day is that

I am going to PRAISE you and tell you what to

do the ENTIRE time. You do NOT need to

have any posing or modeling experience.

NONE. I will guide you through a pose and

from there we add some movement for a ton

of variety and viola! The goal is to make it a

comfortable, authentic experience to

showcase YOU that actually ends up going

from awkward to fun.

Do you have a prep guide?

Yes! I have one for seniors, families & couples.  Topics include portrait tips, planning your location, planning your outfits, hair and makeup, the week before, the day of the session checklist, posing tips & comfort, and what comes after the session.
